Who We Are
Our core function is assisting children to reach their full potential through the gift of education.
What We Do
Khensani’s Collection is a registered Non-Profit Company (NPC). We aim to provide hope through education. Our work is driven by a passionate belief that we all have a responsibility to promote the development of young people. We strive to give academically talented but economically disadvantaged youth in Diepsloot an opportunity to reach their full potential.
Some of our initiatives include:
Where We Do It
Currently our focus is on the children of Diepsloot. We work with a group of children who range from 12 to 25 years of age. Although much time is spent focusing on mentoring, feeding and community upliftment, the primary aim of the charity is education. We have seen that when a child is educated it has a ripple effect and benefits their families and communities. Education truly is a gift that yields tangible results. We want to enable bright students with a willingness to progress themselves. We do not believe in hand outs. We know that when someone needs to work for something they will see the value in it. Our goal is to open doors, provide connections, guidance, direction and assist financially in the success of the future leaders in our country.
Khensani’s Collection provides hope through education. We strive to give academically talented but economically disadvantaged youth an opportunity to reach their full potential.
Khensani’s Collection aims to raise funds to provide education, material assistance, mentorship and life skills to help equip the youth of today become the family and community leaders of tomorrow.
Khensani’s Collection is not a noble cause – it is a necessity. We are answering a calling to be responsible South Africans.
Behind the Scenes
“I taught teens at the Bana Ba Modimo Children’s Ministry in Diepsloot for years. In spending time in this environment I came to know many of the teens personally. I started to understand their needs, hardships and zest for life. I realised that there was a great need for life skills and so started encouraging friends and colleagues to get involved. After much prayer I decided to take action. One birthday instead of receiving the usual bath smellies, scarves and bottles of wine from friends I sent a request out to rather make a donation to a fund. The result was encouraging and so Khensani’s Collection was born. Some special people at ENS, Africa’s largest law firm, encouraged the cause to grow and so we pursued registration. I have learned that when something is right, doors open. This has been my experience with this initiative as people continue to support and encourage our work.
Khensani’s Collection has grown consistently over the years and is now a registered NPC with 6 directors, an employed teacher and most importantly, happy teens we are assisting on a daily basis to become the best they can be.”
